About
Hello, and welcome to Prattle and Waffle!
There are two reasons why this blog exists. Firstly, I want this to serve as a virtual archive where I can write and safely store things I've written. These will usually be book reviews, notes on some topics and issues that I am interested in and my experiences exploring different things and ideas.
Secondly, I want to make myself really think about the media I consume and the topics that are addressed therein—it's no good for me to read a book and not come away with anything to ruminate on. By forcing myself out of my comfort zone to think and write about things I am interested in, I hope I can also develop a 'natural intuition' for communication and get better at expressing myself effectively, which is important for the line of work I plan to go into.
Lastly, I want to add that I do not aim or hope to reach a large audience through this blog - there is already a lot of useless stuff on the internet asking for our valuable time. If people find something here of interest, that's good, it's an added benefit, but the primary goals of this blog are those above and, regardless of readership, I hope I can look back at this in a few years' time and feel that I managed to accomplish them.
